Dreams, called the language of one forgotten by God, and others have long been considered the harbingers of the future. But the modern understanding of dreams in close connection with the personal psychology of the dreamer, with his attitudes and behavioral stereotypes, is largely owed to the innovative work of the Swiss psychologist, psychiatrist and thinker Karl Gustav Jung, who showed that the unconscious psyche of man is lying in dreams. This work presents a comprehensive theoretical and practical guide to understanding dreams in the light of the main provisions and principles of analytical psychology. The Jung model of the mental model is discussed and described. A variety of clinical examples of dreams and methods of their interpretation in the context of the dreamer’s everyday life are given. Particular attention is paid to the general and repeated dreaming motives (fall, persecution, houses, cars, mourning, the end of the world, death, marriage/marriage, sexual images, etc) Separately examines traumatic dreams, compensatory and purposeful functions of dreams, dreams as a harbinger of the disease or physical changes, as well as how dreams are associated with the age stages of the life of this or that person and with the process of its individualization
