Before you is a unique book, which is impossible to overestimate. Here are the conversations of Osho with the students conducted ... in complete darkness! In this book “The Great and Terrible” Osho reveals one of the main secrets of achieving harmony, happiness and peace. And it is unexpectedly simple - you need to love the darkness ...
Osho says that only in the darkness you are left alone with yourself. In the light, you are distracted by everything that happens around, but in the dark there is only you - and nothing more. It calls for the light to turn off the light as often as possible and dive into the darkness: “When the rays of light touch your eyes, this creates tension, anxiety. Agree, it’s hard to relax in the light, and at night you will not fall asleep if the bulbs are not turned off. All because only darkness leads to the deepest rest. ” He teaches to meditate in pitch darkness - this is a win -win way to relax, gain mental calm, get rid of irritability and obsessive thoughts.
“If you cannot fall in love with the darkness, you cannot come to the great truths. When you find yourself in the dark next time, look at it. You will see that she is not terrible at all ”(Osho)

Information about the author
Chandra Mohan Dzhan (aka Aucaria Rajinish, aka Bhagwan Sri Rajinish, aka Osho) - Hindu mystic and spiritual teacher, who collected millions of followers around the world. Chandra Mohan Jain was born in the house of his mother’s parents in Kuchavad, a little village in the district of Rice in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Chandra was the eldest of the eleven children of the fabric merchant. Parents up to seven years old left the child in the care of grandparents, according to Osho himself, this had a considerable influence on his formation - his grandmother gave him almost unlimited freedom, not trying to control him with norms, prohibitions or attempts to educate.
At seven, Osho survived the death of his beloved grandfather, the boy went to Gadarvar to his parents. It was difficult for him to take away the departure of a loved one, at fifteen, Chandra again had to face death - his cousin Shashi died of typhoid. It was these two tragedies that caused Osho his incredible concern about deaths, this concern lasted most of his childhood and youth.
At school, the boy has established himself as a talented, albeit prone to rebellion, a person, among other things, he performed perfectly in discussion fights. In his youth, Chandra became an atheist, for some time he was fond of hypnosis and first collaborated with socialists, and then at once with two independent Indian movements - the Indian National Army and the National Organization of Volunteers.
In 1951, at the age of nineteen, Osho entered the college of a trick in Jabalpur. After a series of conflicts with the teachers, he was asked to leave the institution, the new refuge of Chandra found himself in the college of D. N. Dzhan in the same Jabalpur.
Spiritual education overtook Osho on March 21, 1953. Chandra at that moment went out at night to the Bhanvartal Garden in Jabalpur, sat under a tree and meditated. A certain Higher Force indicated to him one specific tree, meditation under it gave Osho spiritual wisdom.
Over the next years, Jan was a simple professor of philosophy, traveling in the sixties in India with a lecture course. He actively protested against socialism, Mahatma Gandhi and a bureaucratic religious system, in addition to this, Osho actively preached a more free approach to human sexuality-this brought him the title of peculiar “sex guru” first in India, and then around the world. In the seventies, a mystic for some time found a shelter in Mumbai, it was there that he began to actively gain students. The new movement became known as the Neo-Sanyasins. Chandra actively interpreted religious dogmas and works of mystics and philosophers from all over the world. In 1974, he moved to the poon, where he founded the new Ashram-which included many Western seekers of wisdom. Ashram proposed a number of fundamentally new therapeutic techniques, which were the logical development of ideas for the movement to disclose human potential (Human Potential Movement), in the presentation for the Western listener. Very soon, Ashram was spoke all over India, and then abroad, the reason for success was the mild policy of the state in relation to such organizations and the oratory talent of Osho himself. By the end of the seventies, however, even the tolerant Indian government was unable to calmly endure the activity of the guru.
In 1981, Osho moved to the United States, his followers went for him. They settled in a newly created community, later called Rajneshpuram in Oregon.
About a year later, the leadership of the community began problems with the locals - the main reason for conflicts were land rights. Soon the guru was deported from the USA. Twenty -one countries of the world refused him at the entrance, traveling for a while, Chandra returned to Poon.
Since the beginning of 1988, Osho concentrated his efforts mainly on Zen Buddhism. In December 1988, the mystic said that Bhagwan Sri Rajnech no longer wants to be called, in fact, it was then that the name Osho was born.
Its health at this point was strongly slipped. The last time in the public, mystic spoke in April 1989, in the future at public meetings he only sat silently surrounded by his students.
On January 19, 1990, Osho died, at the time of death he was fifty-eight years old. The cause of death, as officially stated, was heart failure. The ashes of mysticism was buried in one of the main buildings of Ashram Puna, the epitaph read: “Osho. Never born. Never died. He only visited this planet from December 11, 1931 to January 19, 1990. ” At the moment, his Ashram is still functioning, under the name International Meditation Resort Osho. The conversations of Osho, recorded from 1969 to 1989, were collected and published by followers in the form of several hundred (more than 600) books
