The monograph is devoted to the study of sleep and dreams as a cultural phenomenon. The origin and evolution of ideas about the sacred nature of dreams in traditional communities is revealed. Theoretical provisions are applied by the author to the study of the cultural model of dreams in Tibet. The specifics of the culture of dreams of the Mongolian peoples professing Buddhism are also represented. The reader learns how religious texts, sacred dances, iconography of deities, and relevant political models arose from the space of dreams of Indian and Tibetan saints. He will get acquainted with magical practices of gaining prophetic dreams, dreams in Tibetan life, deities and treasures extracted from the world of dreams.
