This book, written in the XVII century by the mystic and Mason Nicolas Pierre Henri de Monfocon (1635–1673), immerses the reader into the amazing world of natural spirits - salamand, bellows, Undine and gnomes. The author dispels the prejudices associated with them, and leads the reader to the awareness of the arrival of a new era - the time of cooperation with the elements. Exploring the traditions of many peoples of the world, de Montfond comes to the conclusion that from time immemorial the spirits of the natural elements collaborated with a person, sometimes even announcing his divine will. There were frequent cases of marriage unions of people and natural spirits, however, the time of medieval obscurantism was put an invisible barrier between them - echoes of former knowledge reached us in the form of ballads about valiant knights and beautiful fairies. The book also provides curious information of the esoteric properties regarding the structure of the universe and control of it by spiritual hierarchies
