The collection includes the selected Russian translations of one poem by the French poet, literary and artistic critic of Guillaume Apolliner (1880-1918)
Among translators - Mikhail Kudinov, Pavel Antokolsky, David Samoilov, Vladimir Mikushevich, as well as modern authors. Two of the seven translations are made specifically for this mini-anthology and are published for the first time.
The collection opens with the original poem in French. As an epilogue, literary sketches are proposed about the work of Apolliner, which help to understand the plan of the poem: the essays of literary critics Nikolai Balashov and Zoe Kirnoza, translators of Samaria Velikovsky and Mikhail Yutnov.
The book is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the first publication of the poem. The texts are illustrated by black and white archival photographs and graphics of the emigrant artist Mikhail Larionov. The publication is addressed to literary critics, as well as all fans of Apolliner"s work and connoisseurs of avant -garde French poetry
