Paul Vasiliev’s poetry is full of contrasts. It surprisingly combines tsarist Russia with the free and young language of the revolution. Pavel Vasiliev grew up in Kazakhstan, among the Irtysh Cossack villages: therefore, colleagues called the Russian Asian. East and West, old and new, the traditions of antiquity and new Soviet culture - in its work they bizarrely intertwined. Vasiliev lived boldly, selflessly and honestly.
