Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov (1821 - 1878) - Russian poet, writer and publicist.
The main properties of Nekrasov’s poetry - its close connection with national life, proximity to the people and his aspirations, the ability to speak his language. The best Russian magazines of the 19th century-“Contemporary” and “Domestic Notes”-Nekrasov stood in the center of the literary and public movement of his time. On the pages of his magazines, I. Turgenev, A. Goncharov, A. Ostrovsky, M. Saltykov-Shchedrin found their glory and recognition. Nekrasov introduced F. Dostoevsky and L. Tolstoy into Russian literature.
