The story of Gabriel Nikolayevich Troepolsky “White Bim, the Black Ear”, published in 1971, immediately upon the publication gained wide success with the public, was translated into dozens of languages and has been living out of time and reader age, recalling the simple values of life : love, responsibility, compassion. The film of the same name (1977) of Stanislav Rostotsky has repeatedly won at various film festivals and was nominated for Oscar in 1979 as the best foreign film. In Voronezh, in the writer"s homeland, a monument is erected to the main character of the story - Setter Bim with an unusual color, but with the most common understanding of the world for each dog, which is based on devotion to a friend and duty.
In this collection, along with the story of White Bima, the novels, stories and essays of Troepolsky, reflecting the various facets of the author’s talent, were included, in particular, the cycle of satirical stories “Prokhor XVII and others.
