A family lives in distant peaceful Canada.
Laurence fifteen, Luke is nine, and Matilde is less than a year. Life changes one day, when dad, on which everything was held at home, decides to go to the war in Afghanistan as part of a peacekeeping mission. All familiar family roles collapse, and instead of them reign fear, fierce and misunderstanding. While the father runs the risk of dying in a strange war, his own, internal war comes to their house. To survive it, some will have to grow up prematurely.
Charlotte Zhangra - Canadian writer. She poses unusual questions and helps to maintain hope, not to drown in the darkness. Among its awards are the large Canadian prizes of the Governor General (1999, 2000) and Alvine-Belisle (2012).
