Alexander Glickberg went down in the history of Russian literature as Sasha Black. Having taken such a pseudonym in his youth, the poet regretted it more than once, and over time (having matured and sowing) began to sign his works as “A. Black ”, but still remained for all Sasha. He gained wide fame thanks to the poetic feuilleton, which were published in the famous magazine Satyricon, led by Arkady Averchenko. According to K. I. Chukovsky, “having received a fresh issue of the magazine, the reader first of all looked for Sasha Cherny’s poems in it. There was not such a career, such a student, such a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, an engineer who would not know them by heart. ” Sasha Cherny’s stories were also successful - over the years, prose more and more attracted him. But no matter what genre he worked, the main features of his talents remained unchanged - observation, brightness of images, subtle lyricism in combination with the satualism of satirist, sincerity, and love of life.
