Natalia Astafieva was born in Warsaw, Vladimir Britanish - in Leningrad. They met in 1958 and for almost half a century have been living and writing side by side. Their first books were published in 1958 and 1959. In 2001, they were awarded the Prize of the Union of Writers of Moscow "Crown". Since the 1960s, their verses have been translated in Poland.
