In the publishing house "Nigma" comes out a fairy tale for children 7-12 years old "" Traveling to a magical country, or the birth of a unicorn. " This is a fantasy story in which our world and the world of elves, unicorns and other fairy -tale creatures are intertwined.
The author of the book has been living in Tallinn for many years. In the 90s, it was carried away by the study of oriental philosophy, as well as myths, epics and legends of the peoples of Russia. The mystical atmosphere of the ancient city inspired Irina Thaler to create this story: "Medieval Tallinn in itself is an excellent decoration, and if you look at the city walls through the prism of legends, amazing stories begin to be born in your head, ”says Irina. - Over time, I wanted to write a book for children where the heroes of ancient epics will become equal participants in modern characters. So the story of Yuri and his friends appeared.
Yuri is an ordinary boy, most of all he likes to spend time with friends and drive a bicycle. But one day everything suddenly changes - the boy buys a skillful craft from a mysterious master who turns out to be ... a magical living creature Elphid, and she really needs his help.
Together with a new acquaintance, Yuri falls into the wonderful world inhabited by sophisticated elves, craftsmen, babies -elphas and guardians of forests - Pompila - but a real danger hung over this world. Together with the inhabitants of the magical country, Yuri decides to stand up to its defense - although he is not so daring and strong as he would like ... He will be in exciting adventures, in which he will learn to overcome fear and support others, be decisive and brave, and unexpectedly gain himself An extraordinary friend.
An amazing fairy -tale story is illustrated by the atmospheric drawings of Alexandra Liucconen.
About the author:
Irina Talera was born in the North Caucasus in the city of Mineralnye Vody. Later with her family, she moved to Estonia, where she lives now. She worked in a city newspaper.
About the illustrator:
Alexander Liucconen-an illustrator from St. Petersburg. Illustrates works of children"s and youthful fiction. She collaborated with Russian publishing houses "Nigma", "Swings", "Ast". The illustrations created by Alexandra for the book “Pollyanna” were included in the semifinals of the “New Children"s Book” contest in 2020
