Norwegian writer Ingvall Svinsos (1912-1990) wrote both adults and children. All his books talk about the harsh and beautiful nature of Norway and the animals that are found there.
The main character of the story in the mountains" is a black cat of huge sizes. He was born on a farm, in the family of a peasant. The children of Per and Lisa loved their fluffy friend very much. But it so happened that one had to winter in the mountains. Probably, not a single cat in the world was experiencing as many amazing and dangerous adventures as it fell to Tom. The quiet home murlyk turned into a wild beast, converging the right to life and food with claws and teeth.
At the end of the story, he managed to return to people - to his native family and again become a home cat.
