The fairy tale about the adventures of Thumbelina was invented by the famous Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen in 1835. Russian kids met her thanks to the careful and highly artistic translation of Anna Hansen.
Thumbelina is a crumb -girl that passes through many adventures. She saves from the frog, but falls directly into the clutches of the beetle, which soon throws her and the poor girl is left alone in the forest. Thumbelina has a good heart, because she saves herself and also saves a swallow that takes her to the warm edges to a flower, where the baby meets the king of the elves.
The unique illustrations of E. Efremova perfectly complement the amazing story and help to believe in miracles to adults and children
