It is not easy to read the “Word about Igor’s Regiment”, the greatest monument of ancient Russian epic poetry, it is not easy for us for more than eight hundred years. But the poetic word is easy to remember and repeat, it causes mental excitement, which allows to overcome the ambiguity of archaic words and obsolete grammatical forms. It can become part of living vocabulary. In this publication, the text of the monument is presented in a lightweight -organized form lightweight, with brief linguistic notes, translation into modern Russian and historical comments. In the design of the ornamental books of ornamental screensavers traditional for ancient Russian manuscript, popular details of decorative and applied art of the XI-XII centuries were used. - The heyday of Ancient Russia
