Konstantin Simonov during the Great Patriotic War was a front -line correspondent of the Central Army newspaper Red Star, often visited business trips on various fronts. Numerous collected materials, essays and notes written for the newspaper formed the basis of stories.
The author paid main attention to mainly the everyday military work of the warrior - a soldier, officer, general. He writes about people whose character, manifested or hardened in the fire of the fighting, became the guarantee of our victory.
