In the vast creative heritage of the classic of world literature, Giovanni Bokkaccio (1313-1375), poetry has always been in the shadow of Decameron, the immortal masterpiece of his prose. Meanwhile, throughout his life, he wrote a love lyrics dedicated to his beloved Mary (which he called Fjametta - "Fire"), a poem, a study by Dante"s heritage. Poems, the best of which in skill are quite comparable with the creations of Francesco Petrarch, have become a kind of fixation of his feelings and thoughts: from inspiration of the ardor of youth to philosophical and often bitter thoughts of mature years.
For the first time in Russian, a full set of poet’s lyrics is published in Russian, including poems from Decameron, in the new translations of Alexander Triandafilidi and Vladimir Oslon. The poem "Diana Hunting" is also included in the publication. The book is illustrated by the engravings of the French artist of the 19th century Tony Zhoanno (1803-1852)
