The son of the regiment

Kataev Valentin Petrovich (1897-1986) - writer, poet, playwright, was born in Odessa, in the teacher of the teacher. His father taught in the Junker and diocesan schools. The story "Son of the regiment" about the difficult fate of the twelve -year -old boy Vanya Solntsev, who lost his relatives during the war, was written in 1944. By chance, Vanya was in the artillery regiment, which became his new family. Along with adults, Vanya defended his homeland from fascist invaders, courageously overcoming all the hardships of that terrible war.
