The wonderful American writer James Oliver Kerwood (1878-1927) already at the age of eight, he made the first sortie with a gun in the surrounding forest, and at nine tried to compose his first story. A passionate hunter survived a lot of fascinating and dangerous adventures, obtaining food by hunting wild animals and spending the night in the open air. Over the years, however, he turned into a suburban traveler and defender of wild nature, wandered for a long time in the deaf and unlimited places of northern Canada, studying this harsh land. The nature of Canada and the life of its four -legged inhabitants are devoted to his best works. The most famous of them are included in the Golden Fund of American literature: "Kazan", "Son of Kazan", "Grisli", "Tramp of the North" and "in the wilds of the North".
