The course "worship and the structure of the Orthodox Church" according to the "standard of educational activities in Sunday schools (for children) of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Russian Federation" is one of the basic religious subjects. The task of the course is not just a message from knowledge about God and the Church, but, first of all, the introduction of the child into the temple, to the life of the Church as one large family. At the beginning of the course, children get acquainted with the basic concepts of God and prayer. The section "Church year" gives a brief explanation of the essence of the celebrated and available for understanding at this age the features of festive worship. Studying the twelve holidays, children repeat the gospel history, and this, in turn, allows us to explain the symbols of the temple and liturgical objects. At the end of the course, young Christians learn about the main moments of the all -night vigil and liturgy, church sacraments. The educational and methodological kit, which, in addition to the methodological manual for the teacher, also includes a book for reading and a workbook, is intended for teaching children 8-10 years old in Sunday schools, Orthodox gymnasiums, in the lessons "Fundamentals of the Orthodox Culture" of secular schools
