For the first time in Russian, the book presents the full artistic translation of the “poem of seclusion” ("soledades") of the great Spanish poet Baroque Luis de Gongora-i-Argota (1561-1627) in the virtuoso translation of Pavel Grushko.
The work of Gongora (the name of gongorism has become a kind of synonym for Baroque literature) deeply influenced the development of the Spanish language and the literary process. Everything written by the poet (during life, not a single book was published, poems were corresponded by hand and were printed only in anthologies) entered the classical canon of Spanish literature. The celebration of the 300th anniversary of the death of Gongora has become an act of rallying famous artists and poets, led by Federico Garcia Lorca, the group was called "generation of 1927".
The publication also presents other works of Gongora, as well as articles, glossary and notes for texts, prepared by the translator, which will help the reader in the perception of the unique dark style of Gongorian poems.
"Gongora was the first to dare to protect the darkness, moreover, not as a result of his style, but because he saw in it an aesthetic beginning. Emilio Orosko Diaz
"It is difficult to find a more peculiar figure in the foreseeable space of Spanish poetry. Contact and integrity. Folklore purity and scientific elaboration. Children"s vulnerability and caustic sarcasm. " Pavel Grushko
