Konstantin I deservedly received the title The Great. His whole life is a vivid example of how, contrary to all the circumstances, to achieve an once set goal, no matter how distant it may seem at the beginning of the life path. Among contemporaries, the attitude to the multifaceted personality of the emperor was far from unambiguous. Some condemned him for the fact that, out of love for all kinds of innovations, he inhibit the ancient Roman foundations and customs, others, on the contrary, praised immensely, calling the restorer of the state and the second Romulus. But whatever the views, assessments and judgments of those and others are, one cannot but admit that the activity of Constantine had a huge impact not only for its time, but also throughout the world history
