The fairy tale of Pyotr Ershov, which has become the classic of children"s Russian literature, is decorated with magnificent color illustrations by A. Afanasyev in this edition. The publication also includes excerpts from the memoirs of Ershov, left by his university comrade A.K. Yaroslavtsev, as well as a little-known poetic version of the fairy tale about the Humpbacked skate, made by one of the founders of the magazine Murzilka-A. A. Fedorov-Davydov. Its text is illustrated by color drawings by E. Sokolov
