Lev Epple (1900-1980) - a talented schedule and artist, futurologist. He began to draw up books in the capital"s publishers in the 1930s, and from the second half of the 1940s he collaborated with the book publishing house of Sverdlovsk. Epple was interested in studying and applying a variety of techniques and approaches, based on their own understanding of the literary work. In the "Humpbacked Horse" (Middle Ural Book Publishing House, 1971) Peter Ershov, the artist sought to convey the irony of the story, the spirit of a folk tale. In 1977, the book was reprinted in reduced format and with small changes in the design. Coloring interprets the first version of the publication, while the stars on the cover are taken from the second. The pages of this story-coloring fairy tale are easily separated from the album and can be decorated as independent paintings
