Pyotr Ershov wrote "Humpbacked Skate", while still a student of the Imperial St. Petersburg University, at the age of 19. His first readers and judges of creativity were Vasily Zhukovsky and Alexander Pushkin. The latter, by the way, praised the fairy tale of Ershov. At the end of the university, Pyotr was forced to return to his homeland, to Siberia, where he entered the service and could only engage in literature in snatches. Later, other poems, stories, plays came out from under his pen, but it was the fairy tale "Horse Humpbacked", which absorbed popular wisdom, that became the most famous work of Ershov and one of the pearls of Russian literature.
If Ivan, the protagonist of this fairy tale, listened to the advice of his devoted friend of the skate-humpbacked, no trouble would not have happened to him. But the hobe warned him that the feather of the firebird would bring to Ivan a “much unstable” and it was not worth taking it. But our Vanyusha did everything in his own way, and soon the troubles fell on him one after another. Will Ivan can fulfill all the orders of the greedy king: to get a firebird and a king-girl, find a treasured ring on the bottom of the sea and swim in boiling water? And most importantly - will he cease to be self -willed, will it be appreciated by the advice of good friends? A fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it, a lesson for good fellows.
For primary school children.
