Tole is twelve, and he dreams of becoming a sculptor. For his crafts, he collects clay, as his grandfather taught. Once, when the boy returns home, he is overtaken by a classmate, nicknamed Gray. It is not the first time that he pursues Tolya, and Tole really wants to be brave. But how to do this when a whole gang is on the side of a gray, and nobody on Tolina? Support comes unexpectedly in the person of a boy with a strange name Ferdinand Artamon Glutmeal, or just thunder. One fine day, he arises from nowhere in Tolin Sarai and declares that he will now live here.
