The poet and scientist Mikhail Petrovich Malishevsky (1896–1955) belonged to the most vivid characters of literary Moscow in the first half of the twentieth century. A teacher of the highest literary and art institute, the creator of witty poetic theories, a talented zoopsychologist who devoted many years to work with pets, the author of poems who have earned the approval of V.Ya. Bryusov, B. L. Pasternak and E. G. Bagritsky, did not manage to print In his entire life and a dozen poems. Like many of his contemporaries, having lost hope for momentary recognition, he compiled a semblance of the final collected works, entrusting his publication to the textologists of future generations.
