Sasha Black (Alexander Mikhailovich Glickberg, 1880-1932) - Russian poet of the Silver Age, prose writer and journalist. In the Glickberg family, 6 children, the two had the same name Sasha. And since one was a brunette and the other blond, their children"s family nicknames were black and white. So the literary pseudonym of the future writer appeared.
Sasha Black escaped from home at the age of 15. First, he was sheltered by his native aunt on his father, she took him with her to St. Petersburg, where the boy continued his studies at the gymnasium. However, he was soon expelled, the family turned away from him and Sasha Black became a beggar, begging on the streets. Journalist Alexander Yablonsky became interested in the heavy fate of the teenager, and in 1s98, his report on Sasha Chernoy was printed in one of the largest St. Petersburg newspapers" Son of the Fatherland. This story to the core touched the Zhytomyr official K.K. Roche, and he took the boy to educate. Zhytomyr became the second homeland of the future writer, and Konstantin Konstantinovich Roche Sasha Black considered his godfather.
The first poem by Sasha Black was printed in 1904 in the Zhytomyr newspaper Volynsky Bulletin. A year later, he left for St. Petersburg, where he collaborated with many literary publications. Sasha Black"s poems became very popular, according to the memoirs of Korney Chukovsky, "... Having received a fresh issue of the magazine, the reader first of all searched for Sasha Black"s poems in it."
After the October Revolution of 1917, the writer emigrated from Russia. He worked a lot and fruitfully, and literature for children now occupied a significant place in his work (Fox Mickey"s Diary, "Nonal Stories", "Cat Sanatorium", etc).
"Fox Mickey Diary is considered one of the best works of the emigrant period of Sasha Black
