"Brave tailor", "Red Red Riding Hood", "Boy-S-firing", "Snow White", "Wolf and Seven Kitty" (like the Pushkin’s “Fairy Tale of the Dead Princess” or “About the Fisherman and the Fish”)-they all came To us from the fairy tales of the brothers Grimm. Our edition of this legendary meeting is unique at once for two reasons: the first is included in it, and, according to many, the best Russian translation of the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers, created at the end of the 19th century by the writer, historian and literary critic Nikolai Polev (1839-1902) In the future, the fairy tales Grimm were translated many times, but it was the Field of Field that the first two generations of Russian readers introduced them.
The unique translation is supplemented by no less valuable illustrations: drawings of the legendary English artist Arthur Rakham (1867-1939), as well as the screensaver and vignettes of one of the pillars of the English modern Crane (1845-1915).
... By the way, do you remember the story about the singing and jumping lion"s lark or a fairy tale about the mouse, bird and fried sausage? It"s time to remember!
