The book "Alien" has nothing to do with Ridley Scott"s science fiction horror. The heroes of the Polish writer Irene Yurgilevich are not aliens, not mutants, not zombies and not superheroes, these are ordinary boys and girls - brothers Yulek and Marian and girlfriends Ulya and Cherry. They equip a small island on the river and spend a happy vacation there there.
But one fine day, friends find on the island of a “stranger” - a lonely, hungry guy Zeneck, who is seriously wounded by a leg. In addition, he is extremely proud and impregnable: he rejects help, and does not intend to let anyone into his life. And there is also a homeless Danube Dog with difficult experience in communication with children and adults. Zenek and Danube are both "strangers", who have more than once deceived in people and therefore do not trust them.
The life of a proud and secretive Zenek is the embodied dream of our four friends. He sleeps in a hut or haystack, and not in a warm bed, he can do whatever he wants - his parents do not finish him, he even performs a real feat - saves the baby. Yes, the “alien” brought friends a lot of problems, but made their summer unforgettable. Children with reckless generosity and disinterestedness come to his aid and, importantly, none of the heroes are left to the final who was at the beginning of the book. Everyone is changing, studying something, building a new relationship with each other and with parents and ... grow up.
The book is good in that it does not have obsessive moralization, but there is a clean, elevated, warming romantic line, real friendship and adventure. It will be interesting to schoolchildren 8-12 years old.
The story was released in Russian for the only time - in 1965 in the publishing house "Children"s Literature"
