Alexander Alexandrovich Blok was born in 1880 in the family of a lawyer. At three years old, the boy was left without his father. He spent his childhood in the family of grandfather A. Beketov. Alexander wrote the first verses at the age of five. When he turned nine years old, his mother married an officer, and the family moved to the outskirts of St. Petersburg, to the Grenadier barracks. Studying at the gymnasium, Alexander prepared two numbers of the magazine "Ship", and a little later, together with the brothers, the manuscript magazine Vestnik.
In 1898, A. Blok entered the University of St. Petersburg at the Faculty of Law, but then transferred to the historical and philological faculty.
In 1903, Blok married the daughter of Russian chemist D. Mendeleev. Lyubov Mendeleeva, he devoted the first collection "Poems about the beautiful lady" (1905) Later, his collections “Unexpected Joy”, "Snow Mask", "Lyrical Drama", "Earth in the Snow", "Night Champions ”came out.
Blok adopted a revolution of Yves in 1917, began to work in the Extraordinary Investigative Commission to investigate the illegal actions of former senior persons.
In 1918, Blok published its last works - the poem "Twelve" and the poem "Scythian". Since that time, he has been actively working in the commissions, the theater department of the People"s Commissariat of People"s Commissariats, is the first chairman of the Union of Poets.
In 1921, the block dies in Petrograd. He was buried in the Smolensk cemetery
