Maxim Gorky (Alexey Maksimovich Peshkov, 1868-1936) - an outstanding Russian writer and playwright. Born in Nizhny Novgorod in the family of the joiner. Early Ositev, the boy spent his childhood in the family of his grandfather. It was not easy for little Alexei, from the age of 8 he was forced to earn a living: a “boy "at a store, a buffet dish on a ship, a baker, and studied at an icon -painting workshop. Gorky will later write about the harsh education of grandfather in the story "Childhood" (1913-1914)
Gorky, only two years studied at the Nizhny Novgorod School, he has been engaged in self -education all his life. Attempts to enter Kazan University in 1884 were unsuccessful, but here he met members of the Marxist circle and was carried away by propaganda activities. The first story of Maxim Gorky "Makar Chudra" was published in 1892. And after six, the "Essays and Stories" came into the world, which brought him writing fame. They were followed by the novel "Three", the plays "philistines" and "at the bottom". Gorky never forgot about his difficult childhood, he organized holidays for children from poor families, released a children"s magazine and, of course, wrote fairy tales for children: "sparrows", "samovar", "Tales of Italy" and others.
The story "Shaggy" talks about one day from the life of a boy who worked in an icon -painting workshop. Whatever the day has a bear - have time, turn, or the kicks and the cracks from the masters will receive. The only outlet for the boy is the memory of a circus performance, even in a dream he sees the performance of his beloved clown. Lenka from the story "Grandfather Arkhip and Lenka" also managed to drain a lot of grief for his little life. Without their corner and means of existence, they live on alms. Lenka is ashamed of this, and his grandfather, who is ready to steal for him, is also ashamed.
