Nicholas Zhankin was called the last poet of the folk fret. Indeed, it was Zhanipin as no other who managed to capture the historical life of the Russian people in poetry in the 20th century. Born in the year of the beginning of the Soviet regime, he survived collectivization, war, "thaw", perestroika, the collapse of the USSR and found the transitional period of the end of the century. All the events of Soviet history were somehow reflected in his work and are considered through the prism of one human person. The case in the history of Russian poetry is unique.
This collection of selected poems by Nikolai Ivanovich Zhankin (1918-1999) is published in the year of the poet. The composition of the chosen one structurally repeats the intravital books of the poet, which allows us to show how the work of Tlaupkin developed in the chronological aspect - from the first poems written during the Great Patriotic War, to the last written after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Many verses are reprinted for the first time after their appearance in the poet’s collections that have already become bibliographic. The book includes the poem of Nikolai Tryapkin "Nest of my fathers", which was published only once in the far in 1975
