Romances (lyro-epic songs) have long and unanimously recognized as the highest achievement of Spanish poetic folklore. The first romances that arose at the end of the Reconkists (VIII-XV centuries) were a poetic response to the battles of the Spaniards with the Maurus invaders, but the Mauritan romances that tell about the "African passions soon appeared. Later, others were born "novelistic" romances - peculiar poetic stories. The Spanish romances translated by N.M. Karamzin, V.A. Zhukovsky, P.A. Katenin, Pushkin showed interest in them. In this publication, transfers made in the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries are published on equal terms. - Moreover, both from Castilian (Spanish) and from the Galician and Catalan languages. Most of the translations are published for the first time.
