Michael Grunbaum was born in 1930 in Prague. After the Nazis in 1939 occupied Czechoslovakia, his father was arrested and soon killed, and Misha in 1942, together with his mother and sister, got into Terezin and stayed there until the end of the war. Michael surprisingly clearly recalls his experiences, fears, hopes - how he felt it then at the age of 12-14. This narrative is not just "based on real events" - these are real events.
This is a story about how, in the darkness of the concentration camp, a twenty -year -old young man, Franta Mayer, managed to rally 40 completely different guys and helped them survive and remain people. Some days here were full of friendship and football matches, others - horror before sending "to the East", to Aushwitz.
The writer Todd Khazak-Lawi helped Michael Grunbaum to tell Michael Grunbaum.
A book, including many original documents and photographs, has already become a significant contribution to the literature on the Holocaust. She went out in 2015 and immediately entered the short list of the National Prize Jewish book, received the Gold Medal of the Evrica! "Prize! In the United States and a silver medal in the non-fiction nomination for children.
