Creating illustrations for a fairy tale about a girl from snow (Snow Maiden), we were inspired by the paintings of Vasily Surikov, an artist, whose work is full of images and plots from the history of Russia, scenes of folk life. The Russian folk tale of the Snow Maiden has always occupied the minds of writers, artists and composers-to recall at least the play of Ostrovsky or the opera of Rimsky-Korsakov. Maybe the secret is that how the same mysterious soul, meek and immaculate, was reflected in her anywhere? Creating illustrations for a fairy tale about a girl from snow, we were inspired by the paintings of Vasily Surikov, an artist, whose work is full of images and plots from the history of Russia, scenes of folk life. You can guess which of the illustrations repeats the composition “Boyar Morozova”, and which - the famous painting “Menshikov in Berezov”?
