N. Boldyrev-Seversky is known primarily by his books about Andrei Tarkovsky, Pushkin and Jazz, the work of Simon Weil and, of course, five-volume labor about R.-M. Rilke, including translations and the poet’s internal biography. He also owns the Anthology Zen, a book about Rosanov and several books of free prose and essays.
And yet, it is poetry in the focus of the Rifey Hermit of attention, which wrote in his poetic manifesto "Poetry and Kiss": "The essence of the universe is poetic." And further: "The only silent subject of poetry is God ... Poetry is the hope of embracing the source." The depth and sincerity of this intuition create the special music of his poems that is sheltered in pauses, and not in sounds. For, as stated in the same manifesto, “why read the poet, if he did not approach the border of awakening?”
The poet’s verses found their place in the "anthology of Russian lyricism of the 20th century" (comp. A. Vasin-Makarov) and in a number of others. Like a poet-translator (stuff, trac, Rilke, Zelan) Boldyrev-Seversky was marked by two All-Russian literary prizes.
The idea of the publication, its implementation, as well as the preparation of the book belong to Vera Nikolaevna Venina
