About the illustrator:
Yuri Nikolaev - an outstanding artist, a master of children"s illustration. In 1956-1961 He studied at the M. B. Grekov art school. Since 1963 he was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Until 1986 he lived and worked in Dagestan. Yuri Nikolaev illustrated many works of Russian classics and fairy tales of the peoples of the world. Books with his illustrations were exhibited at international book fairs in Russia and abroad.
