The poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” is quite young Seventeen -year -old A.S. Pushkin conceived as a national heroic ballad and continued to work on it for eleven years. He interspersed the sound of the Russian language with the Old Slavonic and Church Slavonic borrowings. All this gave the work the mysterious and even mystical color, repeatedly strengthening the feeling of antiquity.
