Even the most funny and absurd rumors have household roots. Envy, a way to explain an unknown or cunning management tool-if you don’t like someone, it"s time to let an unpleasant gossip about him! At least, sometimes they did in the Russian Empire.
Until now, we hear amazing stories that were born from gossip. Just imagine how much they discussed at that time, and how easily people could believe in all this!
The illustrator Katya Gushchina and the historian Andrei Aksyonov has an advantage over our ancestors - a distance from that verbal fuss that allows you to calmly restore history, confirm or refute rumors about Russian emperors from Peter I to Nicholas II.
But, despite this, the authors remind us that all the rulers, scientists, writers, commanders and the people of past centuries are actually still very living present.
For secondary and senior school age
