On March 24, 1976, life and Argentina turned over overnight: the military junta seized power and established a tough dictatorship in the country. Not everyone wanted to obey the new regime, and first of all, Argentine youth, adolescents. Take off - disagreed and rebellious - the military mercilessly dealt with: they stole, sophisticatedly tortured in secret prisons, raped, brutally killed. They stole newborn children of prisoners and gave them to the foster families of the military - the killers of their parents - where they grew up, not knowing the truth about their origin all their lives.
Ines Garland was sixteen when a military coup occurred in Argentina. Like the main character of Alma’s book, a girl from a middle -class family, Ines did not even suspect what was happening in the country, and her parents and the environment supported the new government.
Already as an adult, Ines Garland has rethought everything that happened and re -opened this dark head of the history of Argentina in order to never forget about the victims of the dictatorship.
Roman "stone, scissors, paper" received the Award of the Argentine Association of Children and Youth Literature (Alija) as the best teenage novel of 2009 and was translated into German, Italian, French and Dutch.
