One of the most significant works
Akhmatova - “Requiem” (1934–1963) - was originally written as a lyrical cycle, but during the work was renamed the poem. Poems from the cycle during life were published only by samizdat and abroad. In Russia, the full text of the “Requiem” was first published only in 1987.
In addition to the poem, this collection includes significant poems by the poetess from the collections of “Roofs” (1914), “White flock” (1917), “Plantain” ( 1921), “Anno Domini McMxxi” (1923), “reed” (1930), as well as poems that were not included in individual books of the author.
