Dear readers! Here is the fairy tale Charles Perrault "Red Hat", the illustrations for which was performed by the wonderful English artist Walter Crane (1845-1915) He illustrated more than 50 books for children, becoming one of the most popular artists of the book. Crane believed that children prefer to see the exact lines, clearly marked figures and shapes, bright saturated colors. With his illustrations, he sought to amaze the imagination of children. Together with the artist Edmund Evans, he created one of the first in the history of color children"s books. The graphic style of Crane reflected his interest in the art of the Renaissance, which manifested itself, first of all, in the image of costumes and interiors. He also experienced a significant impact of Japanese engraving with its linissy and local color scheme, which, according to the artist, was absolutely consistent with the features of children"s perception.
