American writer Elinor Porter (1868 - 1920) is known around the world as “Mom Pollyanna”. She created the image of a cute girl with a “lively freckled face” and two thick braids behind her. But by no means a pleasant appearance everywhere glorified Pollyanna, and her amazing ability to see the good in everything. Natural optimism helps Pollyanna to experience difficult times - her mother and father have died, and the girl is forced to move to her stiff, stingy to caress aunt.
