The writer Elinor Porter (1868-1920) is known for immortalizing the main
heroine of her book of the same name (1913) Pollianne. The girl who came up with the “game
in joy” was enthusiastically met by readers and critics. This book remains
to this day. Little Polyanna, who has lost his parents, goes to
care to his aunt Polly, and brings her own adjustments to the life of a small town:
She teaches residents to “playing a joy”-the ability to find something in the worst event. BR /> That good and rejoice at that simple and ordinary that in the bustle of everyday life
We do not have time to notice.
Drawings by the artist N. Demidova are printed for the first time.
