Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov is the younger contemporary of Pushkin and the second value after him in Russian poetry of the XIX century. In 2014, the 200th anniversary was celebrated since the poet’s birth. Fate was allowed to live only 26 years and only 13 years in order to go down in the history of world literature. Lermontov’s creative evolution was rapid. The romantic hero of his youthful lyrics challenges the whole world: “I have been born that the whole world is the viewer of the celebration or my death ...”, in late poems the poet speaks on behalf of his generation. Having overcome the romantic rhetoric, having persuaded the most important discoveries of his time, Lermontov essentially summed up the golden eyelid of Russian poetry and discovered new horizons for it.
