Sergey Vasilievich Shervinsky (1892-1991), an outstanding Russian poet, is better known as a translator and theorist of literature. He owns the translations of Sophocles, Euripides, Katull, Virgil, Ovid, as well as numerous translations of poetry of different times and peoples.
The proposed collection presents the original poetry of the poet, which he wrote throughout his long life, but most of whom saw the light only in the eighties. Shervinsky’s poems in an unexpectedly resurrect and complete the best traditions of the poetry of the Russian Silver Age.
