The book includes three poems by M. Yu. Lermontov. The plot of the historical work "Song about Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich, the young oprichnik and the Udenty merchant Kalashnikov" unfolds in the era of the Russian Middle Ages, during the reign of Ivan the Terrible. The plot of the romantic poem "Mtsyri" is taken by the author from the Caucasian life. The poem "fugitive" tells about love for the homeland, in which the author used the plot of an ancient mountain legend. Poems are included in the school curriculum in literature.
