R (1858-1915) so signed his works `August poet Constantin Konstantinovich Romanov, grandson of Nicholas I, cousin of Nicholas II. The author was awarded the title of Honorary Academician of the Imperial Academy of Sciences for his works (which he himself headed the president for 20 years) The first book of the poems of K. R.` (1886) was not on sale, was sent to those whom the poet considered close to himself in spirit (including Feta, Ap. Maikov, Polonsky) She caused poetic initiations and responses in letters - enthusiastic and not quite objective. Having believed in his talent, the Grand Duke began to print a love, landscape lyrics (in it he imitated many - from A.K. Tolstoy to Nekrasov), salon poems, translations from Shakespeare, Schiller, Goethe - and soon took a strong place in literature. Melodic stanzas easily turned into romances.
