Three seemingly completely different works - about the game in the war "Ponaroshka", which became a feat ("chief engineer" L. Panteleeva), adoption of an orphan ("Lucy and Vasille" S. Georgievskaya), a piercing history of friendship and parting of the boy And the dogs ("Petka, Jack and the Boys" V. Konetsky) - unites the common theme of difficult military childhood.
In the story of L. Panteleeva, the boys do not sculpt a snow woman from the snow and do not build a fortress-tier to play snowballs. The war managed to make its adjustments to their interests, and they erect a snow fortress-battery, very similar to the real, military. The German pilot from the air takes these structures for real ones, and the Nazis fiercely bomb them. A simple military cunning invented by ordinary boys was able to deceive the illustrious pilot "and a excellent intelligence officer", and with him the German military superiors. It turns out that toy batteries can be the so -called "false objects" that distract the attention of the enemy from real objects.
S. Georgievskaya, with deep knowledge of child psychology, wrote about the girl Lus and her mother, who live together: dad Lucy died at the front. And in their life a cornfield appears - a baby from an orphanage. Lucy oh how difficult it is to accept a new brother. Of course, Lucy is jealous. Selfish, strongly and sincerely, as the only child, very attached to his mother. And then jealousy is replaced by pity for the baby, and with her nursing love comes.
Petka, the protagonist of the story of V. Konetskoy, together with his mother, recently young and beautiful, and now gray and weak, comes to a small Asian town from the besieged Leningrad. From a malnutrition, Petka has a convulsion and often dizzy. He constantly recalls the sparkling mines of the Ladoga Gulf, Hunger and cold. He no longer wants to live. In addition, Petka poisoned a gang of local boys. But in Petkina’s life, a hefty dog Jack appears, who becomes his defender and the best friend. Thanks to Jack Petka, he gains a desire to live, but ... literally tearing his heart and soul, he gives Jack to the front - to take the wounded from the battle
